what happens when i sync an ipod touch to itunes?

Question by Hannah: what happens when i sync an ipod touch to itunes?
will all the ipod music (as in the music bought from itunes on a different computer, or on the ipod) be erased, and replaced with all the music on that computer?

will they mix together? as in the music bought from all over the place on one itunes account?

will the music on the ipod replace everything on the computer?

Everything on your computer will be on your ipod. Even when you connect it. Problem is is that if you go to a friends house and get music, it will be erased when you connect it to your computer.

Syncing makes the iPod content match that of the iTunes library. You can’t sync content FROM the iPod to the computer. You sync content FROM the computer to the iPod. Learn more in your user guide at Apple.com/support and in iTunes Help and Tutorials. You need to compile your entire library on one computer and then sync to it, or don’t sync at all.

Yes, if you directly click sync, it will erase all music on the iPod and replace with the content of your iTunes library.
But here is a solution. All you need is to get all existing music/videos from the iPod onto your computer and iTunes. Simply use this popular program called Tansee iPod Transfer
    http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfer.htm
The whole process is easy and safe.

With just a few simple clicks, it will help you copy all videos/songs from iPod back to your selected folder on your computer, and then you can easily add those songs back to iTunes. See detailed guide.
More importantly, this won’t overwrite any original files on the iPod. And all song names are preserved.

In this case, all songs/videos (both new and old) are on your iTunes library that you can syn with whenever you wish to without deleting any files.
Here is step-by-step guide on the whole process:

    Best luck!
