    Go to Finder > Preferences > Click General Tab and under there make sure show External disk and Hard disk is checked. You will see your Ipod now on your desktop.

    How do you get the invisible file things to disappear afterwards?? they keep reappearing after i delete them

    I’ve been having trouble with this as well. For those saying the iPod icon isn’t coming up, I believe you have to first “enable disk use” for you iPod in iTunes, under the device summary. Mine came up after I did that.
