This video was no help! The dragging and dropping of songs did not work
with my brand new laptop with iTunes and iPhone6 with the latest software.

I also selected song individually, then clicked add to iPhone and it does
    not add.

I finally used sync which erased half the music on my iPhone, then copies
each song twice onto my iPhone. What a nightmare!

Older iPhones and versions of iTunes were so much easier. Now I lost
several gigabytes of music I burned in with CDs along time ago. It will
take forever to replace that music, and I just don’t have the time.

hey guys, I’m trying to drag music files to my iPhone manually and it
doesn’t work. I looked it up and my problem was that i have a older windows
laptop with all of my music, and right now I’m trying to drag music into my
MacBook Air and it seems you can only drag music on one iTunes library. So
since I have the majority of my music on my windows, I can’t drag any music
onto my iPhone with my new Macbook unless i decide to clear all of the
music on my iphone from my windows laptop and sync the music that is on my
macbook. Sorry if this was confusing but here is the link which could help

I did everything you said to do to manually drag songs to your device. BUT
up until 3:00, after you dragged those songs on your device, it shows that
‘Beautiful Day’ is in gray – not black. Why is that? When I dragged my
songs onto my device, ALL my songs were gray and I cannot seem to figure
    out why.

Hello! I don’t have the option to choose manually at the Sync checkbox.
It’s all in grey, I cannot choose otherwise but sync everything. Same thing
when I drag and drop my music. It doesn’t transfer anything. Why is that?
Is it because I didn’t buy the songs via iTunes?

If you click remove and sync, will it only delete my music or other things
    on my IOS device?

This video was a HUGE help! I couldn’t get a cd I loaded into ITunes to
sync so I had to manually put in the songs. Very explanatory. Keep up the
    good work!

Media Player encountered a problem while syncing the file to the device.”

I have photos on my iPad (iOS 6) and ipod (5th gen iOS7) that I have synced
onto them and recently I accidentally deleted the source folder of these
photos from my pc. Is there any way where I can get these photos back onto
my pc from the two devices?
(I’ve tried plugging it in and clicking on “Import photos and media” but
this doesn’t import what I need)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

So, HOW do you organize your manually loaded items into user-defined
Playlists (like folders) on the iPod Classic. Doing what you describe here
does nothing more than dump them all into a huge list. Honestly folks,
this iTunes 12 UI is way, WAY more user hostile than it needs to be.
