You need to make sure that when your iPod is plugged in, that songs are checked under the “songs” tab on the iTunes menu.

If you have it setup to manually manage, you’ll need to click the “sync” button on the ipod area in order for it to start transferring over.

All of your music, apps and games gets stored in the iTunes library first. Then you can choose to transfer from the library to the iPod.

hey if you want to download music for an iPod then try using http://www.kptunes.com where you will find the best and good quality sound tracks. once you think you have enough music downloaded then you can transfer them to an iPod using iTunes which will SYNC all of your music from your music folder to your iPod. Follow these steps..
The easiest way to transfer music to your iPod is using iTunes.

    1. Connect your iPod to your computer using the FireWire or USB cable.
    2. Notice that iTunes opens automatically and transfers all the songs and playlists in your music library to your iPod. The icon representing your iPod in the Source list flashes red during the update. Do not disconnect your iPod while music is being transferred.
    3. After the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your iPod by selecting your iPod in the Source list, and then clicking the Eject button in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window.

    Good Luck
