Nice workaround. I’m guessing there isn’t a way to copy it onto your desktop and have the artist/song as the file name?

Hey david, is there anyway to use diskaid to recreate my ipod the way it is now? Meaning, copy the songs/playlists according to its date added, restore my ipod (nano 5th gen), and then put the files back in the same way?

Yeah, that’s one way to get iTunes to put the songs into that folder. Or you could just copy/paste them there yourself. But that’s not the point of my video, I said that once that folder is on your desktop, you don’t want to move it anywhere else. Sure, if you want to do those extra steps go ahead, but that’s not part of this tutorial, and it’s not “wrong!”.

3:42 wrong! Goto file -> library -> organize library. Then check Consolidate files and hit ok (this can take awhile depending on your library size, hard drive speed, ect.) . This will copy all your music/movies from the original folder to the iTunes folder in My Music -> iTunes.
