Question by Katie: transfering Ipod music to Itunes?
Heres the deal… my hard drive died and I had a new one put in, however I lost all of my music (18 gigs of music.. so sad.) However I have about 4 gigs of music on my ipod that I was wondering if I could transfer it to my itunes to salvage some of my music. Can I hook up my nano to a new itunes and will it take in the music?
I dont want to hook up my ipod to my itunes and it erases my ipod because my itunes currently has no music files.
Answer by Jenny Yes, if you directly click sync, it will erase all music on your iPod and replace with the content of this iTunes library.
Now all you need is to get all music/videos from your iPod to your computer and iTunes. Simply use this handy one called Tansee iPod Transfer to help you http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfer.htm
Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer. The whole process goes as follows:
Firstly install this program on your computer. When you plug your iPod to the computer, this program will instantly display all songs and videos on the iPod.You simply select what you wish to transfer and click “Copy” button. Done. All your selected files will be copied to your computer completely and safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library. See detailed guide.
More importantly, this won’t overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song names are preserved.
Question by : All my music on my ipod touch had turned to other! HELP?
For some reason my jail broken ipod touch has changed all my music files to other. When i SSH into the music files are still there but i can’t listen to them.
Is there any way of fixing this, because i don’t want to have to restore my ipod.
Answer by kaoru ok, i think i had a similar thing happen to me. so this is wat i did.
Plug your iPod touch into you computer but instead of going to ‘iTunes’, go to ‘My Computer’. Right click your iPod icon and click ‘open’. Now in the top bar it should say something along the lines of (this is wat mine says) ‘Computer YUUKI (D:)’. Click the icon at the beginning of the bar and it should highlight the ‘(D:)’. Press the right arrow and write in front of that ‘iPod_Control/music/’ and then any of these: F00, F01, F02, F03, F04 or F05. (please note that only the ‘F’ is a letter and the last two are numbers) Now, each FXX is a folder with your music in. Now, right click one and click open with, browse and then choose iTunes!
You may have to do this for all of them, if you select them all, it doesn’t come up with ‘Open with…’ as an option when you right click.
I hope this helps you!!

Question by Annie: Any way to free download music from an ipod touch?
there is NO website or anything I’ve found that will let me download music off of the internet from my ipod touch. none of them are “ipod touch friendly.” I’m not allowed to illegally download music on my computer and my parents check every website I go to (yeah sucks doesnt it?) and I am TIRED of fucking paying for itunes music. I even jailbroke it with winterboard but it would lead me to beemp3.com which doesnt work on an ipod either. please tell me if theres any way? thanks.
Answer by Fred download mymedia off the appstore (free) then goto beemp3 and click full version (will not work in mobile version) and press and hold the link to the music and it will ask if you want to download it
Question by Shadowlord: recover my iPod Touch without losing music?
k so im dealing with a problem, i was instructed to install a new update for my iPod Touch and so there was an error and my iTouch is now stuck in recovery mode (shows the USB charger then an arrow pointing to iTunes icon) and in order for it to function i have to recover or format my iTouch…as in i lose 1,800 thousand songs that i dont have on my computer!!!
how can i work around this you seriously cant say i have to completly restart my ipod cuse of a stupid error? what kind of bs is that?
ummm oops not 1,800 thousand…just 1,800 songs
well i could easly recover it with itunes, downloading another program is not necessary i was just curious if could find a way around it so i could keep my music
Answer by devildoll Unfortunately doing a standard restore on an iPod Touch will cause you to loose all data on your iPod. The downside of the iPod Touch and iPhone is that unlike other iPods you cannot use them as a hard drive which makes recovery of the music on your iPod Touch very difficult.
Here are a few sites that offer ways to recover the music from an iPod Touch. Hopefully one of these methods will work for you.
Question by <3: How do I get all my music back on my IPod Touch?
All of my songs deleted off of my IPod, I have no clue how. I purchased all of them and they just vanished. I’m going to call Apple but, before I do I want to see if there’s anyway I can get them back before hand.
I recently plug my IPod into my daughter’s computer, she had a Nano. All of my songs got transfer to her IPod Touch(She no longer has a Nano)
All of the songs are on her IPod Touch.
Is there anyway I can get the back? Without buying them all over again.
